A doctor in Athens, Greece has started a procedure where he rejuvenates a woman's ovaries to get pregnant. Two infertile women, aged 40 and 39, have had a successful treatment.

Genesis Athens Clinic in Greece was the one who started the procedure. Dr. Kostantinos Sfakianoudis, the clinic's director, has injected a blood plasma into the ovaries and womb of the 180 women who tried for the clinical trial. This very procedure is the first of its kind as no doctor has tried to use an infertile woman and her own egg to get pregnant, Mail Online has reported. "We've had two pregnancies, one is ongoing, and the other reached the first trimester. For the moment, these are the first two that have been achieved," Dr. Sfakianoudis explained.

How infertile woman can get pregnant has now an answer especially if this treatment will become successful to more and more women, New Scientist stated. Not all women to who went to Athens, Greece to get the treatment wanted to get pregnant again. Some of them just wanted to control and completely stop the effects of menopause like hot flushes and thinning hair. Those others who got the treatment that is not menstruating anymore have started to have their monthly periods again, Dr. Sfakianoudis said.

Nothing is confirmed yet. More and more trials need to be done to infertile women before this new method will be applied to other clinics, hospitals, and countries. Other doctors are saying it is very wonderful but the effects and dangerous implications of the treatment should be known first. It is much harder for older women to get pregnant so this procedure will be riskier. However, the hope will not be lost.

Getting pregnant for infertile women will now be a lot easier as this new method was discovered. This new treatment will also help infertile women to have their chances at giving birth and having their own children.
