The 2-in-1 hybrid tablet, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date is not really going to happen this year. Microsoft almost confirms and fails those who are patiently waiting.

Top Examiner reported that Microsoft more or less confirms that there is no Microsoft Surface Pro 5 that is coming this year. Even though fans have eagerly waited for years, accepted the 25 percent discount on Surface 4 and believe on speculations, there's a higher possibility that there will be no Surface Pro 5 this year.

Even Panos Panay directly mentioned in an interview, that there's "no such" thing as Microsoft Surface Pro 5, according to The Verge. Every time Panay is asked on the latest update of the Surface Pro 5, Panay talked about the Surface Pro 4 instead. He further stated that Microsoft is always after innovation when it comes to launching new devices.

Panay even stressed out on his words that when it comes to 2-in-1 devices, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has everything to offer, and the company does not miss out any details. Though it's implied what Panay wants to convey his message, he wants people's attention to focus on the Surface Pro 4 rather than waiting for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

After several and repeated questions about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Panos Panay revealed that it doesn't exist at the moment. However, his statement is contradicting the leakage and speculations including the trending tweet of Paul Thurrott.

To recall, Microsoft and Windows expert Paul Thurrott tweeted that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be receiving minor upgrades from its predecessor. If there's no really Surface Pro 5 coming this year, then the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the company's best bet. Consequently, despite the statements of Panos Panay, Surface Pro fans still hopes that there will be a Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to be released even in the last month of 2017.
