An extremely rare white grizzly bear was spotted in Banff National Part near the Trans-Canada Highway.

According to tourist park workers kers, white grizzly bears are exceptionally rare. The white fur of these grizzlies is a result of a recessive gene, which is quite rare in the wild.

Cara Clarkson and her family spotted the white grizzly along with its brown-colored sibling. The Clarksons saw the bears searching for food near the edge of the highway. Although there are a ton of differently-colored grizzly bears - from blonde to dark black, a pure white grizzly is exceedingly rare, according to Mike Gibeau, a retired Parks Canada researcher.

This bear is not an albino either because the lack of pigment has not affected the bear's skin and eye color. Due to their rarity, the sighting was considered by Clarkson as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
