League of Legends ranks highly among gamers when it comes to multiplayer online games. And the Intel Arabian Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments that professional LoL teams dream of winning every year. This tournament is open for teams from Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, and UAE. It's like the World Cup for LoL veterans.

Gamers spend months and even years developing strategies to beat their opponents in the Intel Arabian Cup. 2019 saw more than 1,000 teams participating from different countries, with over 5,000 players registering for this tournament.

The Intel Arabian Cup consists of three stages, starting with the qualifiers. A team needs to win every round to qualify for the next stage. Sixteen teams remain in the next stage, where the best players battle it out to become the world's best team. Anubis Gaming, from Egypt, emerged as the winner in 2019. No one saw this coming. But it was one man that changed the fortunes of Anubis Gaming on its head. And that's Mohamed Magdy Soliman.

Magdy, the captain

Every LoL team has a captain that leads its squad to glory. Anubis Gaming is lucky to have Magdy as its captain. He is not just the captain; he is also their content creator and streamer.

His credibility doesn't end there. Magdy is the thinktank of Anubis Gaming, because of which the team could make Egypt proud in the Intel Arabian Cup.

Popularly known as Rated, Magdy is one of the oldest members of the team. He has been with Anubis Gaming since its inception in 2015. Although his team did well in a few domestic tournaments, it wasn't performing up to the mark in games overseas.

When asked about how he brought the team together to win the Intel Arabian Cup, Magdy said, "The key was to dedicate specific jobs to players. We made a lot of errors initially. We reviewed those errors over the years and made sure we didn't make them in big tournaments. Anubis Gaming saw many players and coaches leave because of the team's failure. But you need to understand that this isn't an individual sport. It requires the entire team to do well. This led me to build a team that would stick through thick and thin. We discussed the qualities of different players and came up with strategies based on our skills and experiences. I think counting on our experiences was the most important part of winning the tournament."

Winning the Intel Arabian Cup

Anubis Gaming's coach gave a chunk of the credit to Magdy for his superb performance in the tournament. He said, "I don't think we would have won the tournament without Rated, honestly. The way he delegated different jobs to team members was incredible. Sometimes, I was a mere spectator. There's no shame in admitting that Magdy is the glue that keeps us all together. This victory is for him!"

Coming from the coach, this was a massive statement in favor of Magdy. He is now the most valuable LoL player in the Mena region because of his ability to show up when it matters most.
