Online reports claim that the SpaceX Polaris Dawn program will launch a crewed spaceship in December for the first time. The first spacewalk on a private mission will take place during the event.

Jared Isaacman, one of the crews for this task, said the mission would likely launch later this year. Interesting Engineering said Isaacman made the revelation on July 29 at the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

What is Isaancman hoping to accomplish with this illustrious mission?

SpaceX Polaris Dawn December Launch Date Details

There have been fresh updates on claims surrounding SpaceX's Polaris Dawn, and according to Space News, there are plans to launch the mission before 2022 comes to a close.

There have been rumors about this new mission from Elon Musk's space enterprise for December, but there have been no official confirmations.

In a tweet earlier this month, Jared Isaacman discussed the training and planning he and the Polaris Dawn crew have been doing in front of the impending launch and planned commercial spacewalk.

The astronauts for the trip would board the Crew Dragon to launch by December, spend five days in orbit, and perform the first commercial spacewalk ever seen by the public.

Isaacman added at an exhibition that the team's impending spacewalk for the Polaris Dawn mission is scheduled to take place in December.

A spacewalk is often referred to as extravehicular activity (EVA), in which astronauts and other space travelers leave their spacecraft and float about in space. Astronauts do spacewalks on the International Space Station. However, according to NASA, specific missions concentrate on spacewalks outside or distant from the ISS.

A high orbital altitude will be used for the spacewalk for the Polaris Dawn mission.

Polaris Dawn Mission Details

The Polaris Dawn mission is the first of Isaacman's three distinct crewed launches. With this mission, SpaceX hopes to increase knowledge about human health during future long-duration spaceflights by conducting research in orbit.

Polaris Dawn's official website mentioned that the research crew members will study various topics. These include studying the effects of space radiation on human biological systems and employing ultrasonography to monitor, detect, and quantify venous gas emboli linked to human decompression sickness.

SpaceX collaborated with the Translational Study Institute for Space Health, BioServe Space Technologies at the University of Colorado Boulder, and the Space Technologies Lab at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to carry out its intended scientific research. Additionally, it collaborated on the research with Weill Cornell Medicine, the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the US Air Force Academy, and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

However, the mission's first commercial spacewalk and testing Starlink laser-based communications in space represent its most significant scientific contributions.
