Jamie Foxx was rushed to hospital in April for a medical emergency. There are rumors that a COVID-19 vaccination leaves him blind and paralyzed. Check out the truth.

How's Jamie Foxx After His Medical Emergency?

On April 11, Foxx's family released a statement confirming that he was rushed to the hospital due to a "medical complication." A day after, his daughter Corinne Foxx released another statement on social media.

Corinne took to Instagram and said that Foxx experienced a medical complication, and thanks to the speedy response and great action, her dad was on his way to recovery.

However, weeks after the incident, there were speculations that Foxx's condition was dire. There were claims that he was left blind and paralyzed due to the COVID-19 vaccination, Newsweek reported.

The Hodgetwins, a conservative comedy duo with 2 million followers on Twitter, reiterated the assertions that he had been rendered "paralyzed and blind" by "the COVID dose." Their tweet received 2.5 million views and about 20,000 likes, retweets, and comments. The Hodgetwins article was also retweeted by @catturd2, a Twitter account with 1.7 million followers, who called the mandate of COVID-19 vaccination "evil demons."

A.J. Benza, a podcast presenter and gossip columnist, was the first to make a claim when he appeared on the Ask Dr. Drew podcast on May 30. Benza claimed to host Dr. Drew Pinksy that Foxx did not want the shot, but the film he was working on pressured him to get it. Foxx allegedly had a blood clot in his brain after he got the vaccine. The actor was also allegedly blind and partially paralyzed due to the blood clot in his head.

However, Benza acknowledged not having first-hand knowledge and that the information came from someone with knowledge about Foxx's condition.

Corinne denied the speculations about Foxx's health condition. According to her in a statement released on May 12, it was sad how the media ran wild about his dad's condition. She clarified that Foxx had been out of the hospital for weeks and had been recovering.

She added that Foxx even played pickleball the other day and thanked her father's fans for their prayers and support. However, Benza accused Corinne of lying, insisting that Foxx wasn't responsive.

Can COVID-19 Vaccine Make One Blind, Paralyzed?

Dr. Drew clarified that Benza was wrong to say Foxx had a blood clot in the brain, noting that he probably meant the actor had a stroke, which could be due to a blood clot blocking the blood vessels to the brain.

Despite being incredibly rare, some COVID-19 vaccinations have been reported in medical publications to have the potential to result in blood clots in the body. On the other hand, according to Yale Medicine, studies have "seen a strong association between blood clots and COVID-19 infection itself."

COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca-Oxford and Johnson & Johnson were linked to a modestly increased risk of blood clots, whereas COVID-19 mRNA vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna were not.

Nine people lost their lives, and 60 cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (a clotting problem) were reported among the approximately 18 million people who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccination, according to the government's vaccination Adverse Event Reporting System.

The COVID-19 vaccine also affects the cranial and peripheral nerves, which can result in adverse effects such as Bell's palsy, herpes zoster, small fiber neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), and hearing, smell, and vision loss, according to a study published in the European Journal of Medical Research.

Following vaccination with adenovirus-based vaccines, GBS is also a peripheral nerves and nerve root injury that manifests as severe motor weakness and paralysis of the legs or four limbs and is more common in the elderly. Numerous reports have linked the Pfizer vaccine to olfactory, ocular, auditory, and even abducens nerve palsy.

A bilateral disturbance or amplification of the olfactory pathway and the olfactory bulb can cause olfactory dysfunction, ranging from a lack of smell to an olfactory hallucination (phantosmia). Hearing impairment, tinnitus, and vertigo are all examples of hearing problems. Furthermore, there is convincing evidence that the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccinations are linked to vision problems and optic nerve inflammation, which are more prevalent in middle-aged persons.
