How Big Is a Whale Penis?
According to Smithsonian magazine, whale penises are oversized. American novelist Herman Melville suggested in "Moby Dick" to use the sperm whale's phallus as a floor-length apron to clean while skinning the rest of the whale.
However, many people are still unaware of how whales' genitalia look. They don't have an exposed penis. Instead, it is concealed beneath the animal's bottom side's genital slit and only emerges when necessary.
With two muscles linked to the pelvis, the phallus of whales and dolphins is remarkably nimble and provides an increased range of motion and control. This fibro-elastic prehensile structure also enables the whale to skillfully adapt the shape of his most prized possession to the female anatomy.
Additionally, it has been proposed that this tissue's flexibility aids in erecting the penis rather than increasing blood flow. However, this has not yet been fully established because accurate measurements during intercourse are virtually impossible.
All cetaceans are mammals, and sperm is used to fertilize the females' egg cells during reproduction. Male whales and dolphins do not have genitalia hanging outside, unlike most of their terrestrial counterparts. This creates a logistical challenge because sperm needs to be stored at a lower temperature than body temperature, which is the situation for the phallus and scrotum.
As for the size, according to reports, blue whales have the biggest phallus, which averages 8 to 10 feet, per Roaring Earth. However, according to Pacific Whale, humpback whales are endowed with 10 feet long penises.
Blue Whale Penis Size
There are a ton of penises in the animal realm. However, the blue whale, the largest animal to ever exist, possesses the largest penis of them all. A blue whale penis averages 8 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3 meters) in length but only 12 to 14 inches (300 to 360 millimeters) in diameter. The typical size of the penis of an adult elephant, the biggest penis found in any land animal, is 6 feet (1.8 meters).
A dried tip of a blue whale penis is on display at the Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík, Iceland. A photo has been shared online, and it's visibly massive, given that it's only the tip and already measures 5.6 feet in length and weighs 150 pounds. According to Roaring Earth, the penis size would be 16 feet long and 990 pounds heavy.
Futurismo added that each testicle can weigh up to 70 kilograms and store about 17 liters of sperm fluid. During ejaculation, it can release 20 liters of sperm in one round per Whale Time.
Although blue whales are well-endowed, the males of this species do not use sperm to compete. These largely solitary creatures' low-frequency sounds may contribute to their courting behaviors. They considerably boost their chances of finding distant possible mates because these vocalizations can be heard for hundreds of kilometers.
