A pre-med student has invented a trick that will let you think your water has turned into a flavored one without adding anything. Saef Munir has invented the "Flavor Bottle" in which yhe olfactory organ will be the one at work.

The "Flavor Bottle" is a regular water bottle with a scented silicone spout. The scented silicone spout is the one that tricks the human brain into thinking that the drink is really flavored when it is not. Since smell is 80 percent part of our sense of taste, just smelling the flavor is enough to taste it.

According to Digital Trends, Saef Munir got the idea when he was in anatomy class. He learned that humans' taste and smell senses are very much connected and affect one another. "I've worked on this product for the past three years, starting with a scented water bottle cap, scented ring, and eventually to a prototype scented straw and then scented spout", added Munir.

The straw is the best way for the flavor bottle to work. It allows the person drinking to smell the flavor all the while drinking, Munir explained. He tried using a ring and cap but it did not work because a person had to knowingly smell and drink at the same time, he further explained. In the end, they came up with a scented spout. The flavors are already approved by FDA. Also, Munir has it patented but it is still in pending.

It is available now on Kickstarter. Saef Munir is fundraising for it to be commercially available. He invented the Flavor Bottle for people who are exercising but do not want to drink preservative-added water. Also, it is made for people that want to keep in shape but wants to drink flavored drinks. Other people can donate as the Flavor Bottle is only $20 a bottle.
