Typically non-disruptive, in spite of the high-energy emissions from the fusion/fission reactions that take place on the sun’s outer surface, today’s storm is causing some concern over what affect it might have on us, three planets away from the star.

Reaching as far south as New York, the record-breaking Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) of early last week’s solar storm brought with a gust of solar wind, an illuminating spectacle of lights across the sky.
