Belonging to the local Ilan variety of strawberries, a heavy strawberry has been verified as the world's heaviest. For the first time in 32 years, the record had been broken.
With a measurement of 18 centimeters long, 34 centimeters in circumference, and weighing 289 grams, a strawberry grown by Ariel Chahi, an Israeli farmer, has been confirmed by Guinness World Records, as the heaviest fruit of its kind in the world, a Mashable SEA report specified.
This heavy fruit is approximately five times the average weight of a regular strawberry and roughly the same weight as an adult human heart. As described in this said report, this fruit is undoubtedly, "a real chonk."

'Big Potential'
Chahi had discovered the giant fruit on his family farm in 2021. The moment he saw the strawberry he already knew it had the "big potential" to become a record-breaker.
The farmer decided to have it stored in a freezer in order for the fruit to survive long enough to be evaluated by the staff of the Guinness World Records.
He explained, he described his feeling when they heard about the confirmation as "amazing." He jumped in his car, "laughed and sang," continued Chahi as they have been waiting for this validation for quite a long time.
Record-Breaking 289-Gram Weight
In a video posted on the Instagram account of the Guinness World Records, Chahi is seen placing the fruit on a digital weighing scale, proving that it does certainly weigh 289 grams, including its own stem's weight.
He also compared the giant fruit to a miniature iPhone XR, which has a weight of 194 grams, nearly 100 grams lighter than this world's heaviest strawberry.
Many now wonder how this can be even possible. According to Guinness, it was extraordinarily cold in late January and early February of last year.
This slowed down or delayed the ripening process of the fruit. However, it allowed for the continued gain of weight of the strawberry.
45-Day Development from Flowering
According to one of the witnesses of the weigh-in of the strawberry, Nir Dai, the fruit developed slowly for over 45 days from flowering which caused it to become large in size at the stage of full ripening.
And, if one is being technical, the huge fruit is actually composed of numerous berries that "grew and attached together," lending to its unique appearance, or as one of the reports would describe it "like a pumpkin with acne."
Whether it is a chonky boi or a puberty-stricken pumpkin, this fruit was not only a gigantic strawberry. It was simply the heaviest example ever discovered. The Guinness World Records' previous record holder for the heaviest strawberry of the world was that of Koji Nakao from Fukuoka, Japan.
The strawberry weighed in at a heavy 250 grams, not too far off from this present record holder. As earlier mentioned, this was the first time in more than three decades that the record had been broken.
