Tesla CEO Elon Musk has threatened US President Donald Trump in leaving the White House Council if he decides to withdraw from the Paris climate accord last Wednesday. Trump has yet to make a decision on the global climate pact, making other world leaders fret about environmental concerns in the future.

In an article published by CNBC, Musk said that he would have no choice but to depart his task of advising Trump if he decides to withdraw the US' membership on the Paris climate accord. He answered this on Twitter when someone asked what would he do if the President decides to pull out of the landmark global deal in curbing emissions for environmental concerns.

Trump previously tweeted that he will announce his decision on the Paris climate accord "over the next few days" after facing numerous pressure not only from Musk but also from the climate deal's supporters and non-supporters. Politico has reported that Trump has been repeatedly announcing during his presidential campaign that he will withdraw from the deal in order to make the coal industry stronger.

Moreover, it is indicated that Trump will withdraw from the Paris climate accord as a fulfillment of his promise during his campaign, something that Musk is against. However, some news outlets said that he has yet to make a final decision and should not be judged on his previous statements.

Musk, who is also the founder of American aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company SpaceX, focuses on advising Trump in manufacturing jobs, strategic and policy forum, and infrastructure platforms. He already defended his role for Trump against criticisms from anti-Trump activists, saying that they should hear his opinions in the discussions to offer views that would split him from the other advisers like his support for the Paris climate accord.

It is not just Musk who has been asking Trump to stay in the Paris climate accord. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson supports the climate agreement, saying that it would be beneficial not only to the US but also for the world.
