An air purifier is a device that can remove contaminants in the air to improve air quality indoors. These devices are commonly beneficial to those with allergies, asthma, and reduce second-hand tobacco smoke.

Coway, a household appliance manufacturer and distributor, has seen this problem and hopes to solve it with their new Coway Airmega 150, which is an air purifier that is about the size of a shoebox.

Makers of the new Coway Airmega 150 had small spaces in mind when making the air purifier. Although small, it does not trade efficiency with compactness as the device uses a multistage Green True HEOA filter that can eliminate 99.97% of airborne particles.
That means it can get rid of particles as small as 0.3 microns like dust, pollen, and smoke. These particles or elements are known to cause respiratory tract reactions and diseases. Coway Airmega 150 is the perfect choice for fall and writer seasons, the seasons when allergies flare up, and many people have reported many fire burnings in their house.
Coway Airmega 150 has a sensor on top that tells the air quality at a glance. It also has LEDs that change colors to reflect the quality of air in real-time. Plus, users can control its volume and the speed at which it cleans the air through Airmega 150's three different speed settings.
Moreover, its control panel allows the users to control whether to turn on or off the light, toggle between auto mode and fan speeds, as well as inform the user to swap the filter, which includes an easy-to-remove washable prefilter that extends the life of the filter by regular washing.
This air purifier is about 13.4 inches by 6.5 inches by 18.5 inches, small enough to fit in small spaces. It was designed to purify the air of a room up to 214 square feet, making it the best choice for the majority of bedrooms and some studio apartments, although it may not be best to use un the living room.

How do air purifiers work?
Air purifiers use fine sieves that can filter particles out of the circulating air in a room. The finer the sieve inside an air purifier, the smaller particles it can trap. HEPA filters are the standard for air purifiers, which guarantees a 99.97% filtration capacity that traps 0.3 microns in size particles that are not visible to the naked eye.
Furthermore, HEPA filters can efficiently remove smaller-size airborne particles like dust, smoke, chemicals, asbestos, pollen, and pet dander. Unlike room air conditioner filters, that can only trap particles about 10 microns or larger making them inefficient in purifying and filtering the air.
The more air particles that pass through an air purifier, the cleaner the air of the room will become. Besides, the room size capacity of an air purifier is also essential to note to determine whether the right type of air purifier is used to handle the air purifying needs.
