Tesla and SpaceX boss Elon Musk again confused the public with his bizarre ideas. This random, exciting idea was relayed by him just a few hours before the automobile company announced that it would be cutting about ten percent of its workforce.

The idea was related to the firm's new robot Optimus. This humanoid is being created by Musk's electric car company Tesla. The completion of the machine is expected later this year.

According to Elon Musk, the company's large event, ' Tesla AI Day,' will commence on September 30. The CEO said their team had already assembled a working Optimus model, The Byte reports, by that time.

In a tweet, Elon Musk excites his followers, saying that the second Tesla AI Day is expected to present things that are 'epic.'

For many, the billionaire's recent stunt of attraction is somewhat a distraction that puts the attention of the public on the issues that his car company faces today. This was not the first time the Tesla owner attempted to divert the people's excitement to the most impossible things that could happen in our time.

So far, the company does not release any details regarding its plans for the humanoid robot Optimus. Despite being the first try Tesla diving into the artificial intelligence and robotics industry, many investors and enthusiasts put their hopes up for this machine.

The only thing people have today related to Optimus is a rendered version of its design, as well as a human dressed up with a spandex costume, similar to how the robot will look upon completion. It has been ten months since Elon Musk initially announced their plans at the 2021 Tesla AI Day.

Another puzzling piece of information about the humanoid is its expected design. Reports say that when Elon Musk was asked if Optimus's design would be similar to a model presented back at the firm's Texas Gigafactory grand opening, the CEO replied no.

Elon Musk's Plans for Tesla Humanoids

According to Elon Musk, Tesla's latest development aims to produce humanoid robots that could replace humans in terms of conducting tasks that are considered dangerous, repetitive, and boring.

Many are still expecting that the largest electric automobile firm would be able to build a successful, working humanoid unit, even if no other robotic companies were able to pull it off. This invention seems impossible, considering that most of the biggest AI firms, including Boston Dynamics, do not yet have one in their collections.

Many robot developers have presented many machines that can talk, think, and walk throughout the recent decade. However, the humanoids they create are still far from how real humans perform these functions.

For now, we would be observing other activities that Elon Musk specializes in, such as flying reusable rockets and carrying people out to space, and dominating the social media business through investments in each popular digital platform.
