Local sources state that a lady who worked on an Indonesian rubber plantation was discovered dead in the stomach of a 7-meter (22-foot) python.

Jahrah, a 54-year-old woman, left for work on a plantation in the Jambi region of Sumatra on Sunday morning. When she did not come home that evening, her husband filed a missing person's report.

Python Swallows Woman in Indonesia

Police told CNN Indonesia (via Times News Now) that they started a search after Jahrah failed to return home on Sunday after gathering rubber close to her family's house in Jambi province.

The victim's husband also investigated the area, but only discovered her sandals, headscarf, jacket, and knife, according to Betara Jambi Police Chief AKP Herafa, who was speaking to the media source.

The next day, he and a search team returned to the same location, where they discovered the enormous snake with an enlarged middle.

As shown in the video posted on Instagram, as one volunteer used a branch to hold the python's head down, others began to hammer it over the swelled region.

According to Times News Now, the python may have bit Jahrah before wrapping its body around her and eating her. According to the study, it would have taken at least two hours.

In 2018, a woman was discovered on the island of Muna, off Sulawesi, after being sucked by a giant python. She had vanished from her garden, located at the bottom of a cliff where snakes were known to reside in cavernous dwellings.

In the town of Salubiro on the island of Sulawesi, a farmer was murdered and ingested by a gigantic python a year ago.

How Pythons Eat Humans

Snake bites affect a far bigger number of individuals. According to the World Health Organization, there are roughly 5.4 million snake bite incidents each year, of which 1.8 to 2.7 meters result in poisoning. Children and agricultural laborers are in danger in rural areas with higher poverty levels.

They are extremely strong and may grow to lengths of more than 10 meters (32 feet). They ambush their prey and strike, surrounding and crushing it while getting tighter as the victim exhales.

Within minutes, they are dead from cardiac arrest or asphyxia.

Pythons consume their meals whole. They can maneuver around enormous prey because the ligaments holding their mouths together are extremely flexible.

Mary-Ruth Low, conservation and research officer for Wildlife Reserves Singapore and a reticulated python expert, told the BBC in an interview that the restricting factor when it comes to eating people is human shoulder blades because they are not collapsible.

Low noted that although pythons occasionally consume reptiles, including crocodiles, they mostly prey on mammals.

She claimed that these animals usually consume rats and other tiny creatures. Still, once they reach a specific size, it almost seems like they stop caring for rodents since the calories are not worth it.

Essentially, pythons may grow as big as their prey. That may apply to huge animals like pigs or even cows.
