Earlier this week, a brawl that led to the arrest of four teenagers sparked a bizarre theory. Several netizens speculated that extraterrestrials were involved after countless cars were spotted in response to the situation.

Aliens Spotted in Miami Mall?

A short, grainy video that has gone viral on social media purports to show a towering extraterrestrial, reportedly 10-foot tall, moving between twelve police cruisers and a neighborhood close to Miami's Bayside Marketplace. Scenes from the alleged alien encounter line up with press reports and video recordings of a mall riot on New Year's Day that featured multiple fights and deafening fireworks, prompting a local to call an active shooter.

Videos of people fleeing the area in terror were mixed with purported footage of the alien; some viewers confused the film with footage of residents fleeing the beast. The conspiracy theory started when a sizable convoy of police cars was observed outside the mall.

To put an end to the disturbance caused by a group of youths who were also hurling pyrotechnics at one another in the outdoor shopping center, more than 60 police cars descended upon the downtown Miami mall on Monday night.

Four people were taken into custody about the event. The minors were "causing a riot inside the mall" and "causing panic," according to the arrest report.

What Really Happened?

Some people have questioned the video's lack of persuasiveness on X, formerly Twitter. The police also responded to the rumors, shutting down the conspiracy theory that extraterrestrials were involved.

"There were no aliens, UFOs, or ETs," the police department said Friday.

Police claim that the blurry, close-up video, shot from multiple levels above, is considerably less surreal.

It's a walking shadow of a human. Officer Michael Vega stated that you can see the individual at the bottom of the shadow if you start watching the video at the beginning. I and the other officers would be hiding behind our cars with our rifles, shotguns, and handguns out in case there was any creature.

Reports of over 50 young people fighting in the mall, some of whom may have been armed with sticks, were the true reason for the heavy police presence.

A clearer video revealed that the figures that looked like aliens were two or three police officers walking together between the squad cars and the area close to the mall.

Conspiracy Theories About Aliens

Americans are talking about aliens more and more these days. David Grusch, a former intelligence official, testified before a congressional committee in July that he knew of many colleagues who had been harmed by unknown aerial phenomena activity and that "non-human biologics" were present at suspected crash sites.

Grusch further asserted that the US government carried out an extensive operation over several decades to gather and decipher crashed UFOs or unexplained aerial phenomena (UAPs). The testimony spurred discussion on alien existence on social media.

A few months later, self-described ufologist Jamie Maussan showed the Mexican Congress two fossilized carcasses he claimed to be "non-human" corpses. Still, Maussan's record on the finding of extraterrestrial life hasn't always been reliable.

He took part in a 2017 video report which claimed non-human remains were later shown to be the corpse of a mummified toddler. The movie was uploaded by Gaia.com, a website that has been criticized for being a conspiracy theory hotspot and that costs $99 a year for videos featuring the paranormal and supernatural.
