AMD has recently launched its next two soldiers of Radeon 500 GPU series namely, Radeon RX 570 and RX 580. However, the company projected the launch so quickly and rapidly that many of the recent GPU buyers, who unknowingly bought Radeon RX 470 and Rx 480, may scratch their head and feel extremely guilty for their loss. But some insiders have clinched a superlative advancement which would definitely make users of RX 470 and RX 480 cards happy. According to them Radeon RX 480 and RX 470 can be turned into Radeon RX 570 and 580 just by tweaking BIOS and clock speed and even without changing any panels of its hardware.

According to Tweak Town, TechPowerUp forum member 'TonybonJoby' has engineered an incredible implementation which can elevate RX 480 card to the limits of AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU. The report suggests that he transformed the lower end GPU with a BIOS from the SAPPHIRE RX 580 Limited Edition, and even took the new 1411MHz boost clocks into an accessible context which can provide the capabilities of an AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU. He flashed his XFX Radeon RX 480 just by downloading the BIOS from the higher-end variant. Surprisingly, the RX 480 GPU is now running on AMD Radeon RX 580 Card's overclocked speed.

However, there are other things to cared of during this tweaking as per a report by PC Gamer. The report hinted that this simple evolution can be possible just by changing the software context and tweaking the clock speed. But it can push little extra pressure for RX 480 GPU. It claimed that this method of transforming into AMD Radeon RX 580 can cause little bit overheating to Radeon RX 480, although, that 's merely not so serious.

Another obstacle in the process can be applicable to its BIOS settings. If one has dual BIOS equipped Radeon RX 480 card, then only he/she should try out this technique to upgrade his GPU into AMD Radeon RX 580 manually. Trying this method, with a single BIOS based card may ruin the card into a faulty flash. All and all, the technique is not official and users are recommended to try this technique at their own risk. No one but only the user will be responsible for any loss during this method.
