A small town in Norway has abruptly been swarmed with tourists due to a navigation error of Google maps. Confounded travelers, who considered to encounter the wonder of the renowned Preikestolen cliff, have been turning up in Fossmork now, which is around 19 miles far from the area where they had to go.

According to the New York Post, many locals of the Fossmork village were visited by the confused tourists. When enquired, the locals knew that these tourists were heading to the Preikestolen cliff, but entered the village as a part of wrong navigation by Google maps. Fossmork occupant Helge Fossmark said there have been lines of minibusses arranging outside the town on summer days.

There was a glitch in the Google maps navigation, due to which the tourists were shown the wrong way in the Norway. Preikestolen is a grand, about 2000-foot-high rock arrangement that towers over a fjord. It's famous, as per the Norwegian tourism agency, it gets more than 200,000 guests a year.

Fox News reported that the locals and the tourists were interviewed by the Norwegian Newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad. "We have sent hundreds of tourists away in no uncertainty that they're on the wrong side of the fjord. In the summer season, up to 10 to 15 cars show up each day," a resident of the town said. All these happen due to the wrong navigation of Google maps.

Google maps error is all blamed for the confusion between the tourists and the exact location. Google has responded to the problem and has said that it always encourages its users to report any problems which the users can find for improving the service. It will help in providing better service to its customers. If someone notices a problem in Google Maps, please go through steps on the video so that no one else has to face the same problem.
