Extraterrestrial Intelligence Would Discover Earth More Readily During Jurassic Era Than Today [Study]

Scientists have searched for signs of extraterrestrials for years but haven't found concrete evidence. A new study suggests that aliens with advanced technology would have seen us quickly during the Jurassic era.

Earth During Jurassic Era More Likely Discoverable by Extraterrestrial Intelligence

Planet Earth is more attractive to extraterrestrials when dinosaurs still exist, according to a new study by astrobiologists from Cornell University. During the Phanerozoic Eon, which lasted 540 million years, the researchers examined changes in biomarkers important for identifying life over large cosmic distances.

Between 100 and 300 million years ago, two crucial biomarker pairs- oxygen and methane- and ozone methane- became noticeably stable. This occurrence was mainly ascribed to an abundance of vegetation that, during those periods, markedly increased the amount of oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere.

This suggests that if there had been any conceivable extraterrestrial life back then with more sophisticated telescopes, they might have been able to identify our planet more quickly than they might now.

The study also considered other elements that affect atmospheric oxygen levels, like the amount of land covered in forests, the diversity of marine life in oceans, and the weather patterns.

The "fire window"- the range in which fires can ignite easily and remain under control- is thought to have existed for the last 400 million years when atmospheric oxygen fluctuated between 16 and 35 percent. This delicate balance is essential for the emergence and maintenance of life.

Astronomer Chris Impey of the University of Arizona wrote a book lately called "Worlds Without End." He was a guest on the Fiction Science podcast and discussed the evidence for extraterrestrial life. He thought that by identifying the spectroscopic biological activity in the atmosphere, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) could assist us in finding extraterrestrial life.

Are There Aliens On Earth?

There is no concrete proof that extraterrestrials have already reached our planet. However, there are various accounts from different individuals about the issue.

For instance, actress Goldie Hawn claims to have encountered three extraterrestrial beings when she was 20. The "Snatched" actress claimed they were silver in color and had a slash for a mouth and little noses but lacked ears.

Former construction tycoon Christopher Bledsoe also claimed to have a paranormal experience in 2007. He was reluctant to use the word "aliens," but he was convinced they were not from our planet.

Meanwhile, "Star Trek" actor William Shatner reacted to the UFO hearing held on Capitol Hills in July. Shatner wasn't convinced about the claims about extraterrestrials and called the entire hearing "ridiculous."

Whistleblowers and witnesses mentioned seeing unidentified flying objects (UFOs), but he doubts that they are such. Shatner is skeptical about the claims that those sightings were highly developed spacecraft from other solar systems. He believed that extraterrestrial intelligence would make their presence known if they were around.
