You might have seen blockbuster movies like 'Transformer' just for the sake of fun while thinking that it can never turn into reality. Similarly, you wouldn't have ever thought that movies showing autonomous cars can see the dawn of reality. After all, how on earth is this possible to drive a car without a person who is pushing horn and stopping car on the signal light abruptly?

But that virtual world has seen the way to reality, and in case you don't know, efforts to make driverless cars are in the loop since the 1920s. And since then many major car manufacturing companies like Nissan, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz have launched a prototype of autonomous cars.

Twenty-nine U.S. states have permitted to launch and use self-driving cars on the road, which means that the time isn't far when we will see such cars running on the road without freaking out. But before they are launched for the general public, one of the buzzing questions in the town is how autonomous vehicles (AV) are going to change our lives?

In case you have also been wondering this, then here is your answer:

Economic Growth:

Just think how the public goes gaga when a new Ferrari car hits the market? Every 'it' class person wants to have it in his/her garage as an accolade of the status. And car-mania is not just constraint to any particular class because the car is the common love of people of all classes. So, imagine what would be the impact of AVs on the car market as people would try to have a hand on this miraculous creation in the world of cars.

And this fact has also been predicted by a research group BCG, according to them by 2035, the autonomous cars will conquer around 25 per cent share of the car market, with 12 million global sales each year. But along with giving a thrust to the car production, AVs are also predicted to make many people jobless by holding their jobs, like a taxi or public transport drivers. It seems that AVs are going to be a bittersweet blow to the economic growth of the market and society.

Industrial Shift:

We all know that self-driving cars will bring a major change in the functioning and mechanism of car manufacturing units. But that's not the only area where things will be changing. The mining, farming and other industries, where we need a vehicle, will also be blessed by the miracles of autonomous cars. For instance, in the mining industry, autonomous cars are not only expected to make operation easier but will also increase worker's safety more than ever before.

Similarly, the farming industry will also become more efficient, cost-effective and productive. And not to forget the works related to loading, lifting and construction - they will also not work how they operate today.

Public Security:

With the staggering number of people who die every year due to car-related accidents, self-driving cars are going to change the public security scene. In fact, public health and security are one of the major causes of the much-anticipated wait of AVs considering that car accident fatalities have increased to 40, 000 in the U.S. with an economic loss of hundreds of billions. But self-driving cars are expected to reduce this number by ninety per cent along with saving the economic loss caused due to property damages and insurances.

More Productive Time:

Just imagine how much time we spend every year while being stuck in a traffic jam and traveling from one place to another. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Americans wasted a total of 29.6 billion hours on traveling in 2014. And since then condition of traffic jam has only become worse. But with the advent of driverless cars, people will have much more time for other productive tasks and entertainment purposes. In short, life will become much easier and productive!

Technological innovations are not ready to stop yet, and we are not feeling sorry about that. Significantly, if innovations are like autonomous cars, then we are more than happy. Bring them on, we all are waiting!
