The growing number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Italy has led to the whole country being at a full stop. As indicated in the Live Tracking Dashboard, 27,980 cases have been confirmed from which, 2,158 people are said to have succumbed to the illness.

Nevertheless, a total number of 2,749 individuals have recovered as well, from COVID-19, now considered a global pandemic. And, since people are following the strict guideline of social distancing to avoid the infectious disease from spreading, many of them are losing job and business, as well, with each passing time.

Moreover, there's also panic and tension in the entire country. There's good news though, amidst the lockdown in the whole of Italy.  Venice, one of the biggest tourist attractions of Italy, is seeing a lot of guests, usually, throughout the year.

Nevertheless, since the Italy was put under lockdown, streets turned empty spaces, and very is less traffic of boat on the canals of the city where people frequently enjoy their gondola rides. Surprisingly though, this lockdown has one positive result: it has helped in clearing the canals of Venice.

In a CNN report, it was indicated that the people in the city notice a big difference in the water's clarity. More so, the quality of air in the city was seen improvement, as well. A spokesperson of the mayor said, the water currently looks clearer as "there is less traffic on the canals," letting the residues stay at the bottom.

This, the spokesperson reiterated, is because, the traffic is less ant that traffic is the one bringing the sediment to the top of the surface of the water.

Interestingly, water has turned so clear too, across Italy that the fishes there have also turned visible. Even the swans and dolphins are now also seen, seemingly enjoying the clean water. Incidentally, according to Twitter users, the improvement in water quality within Italy has taken the ducks in the fountains of Rome, and the dolphins, to the Port of Cagliari.

As earlier mentioned, the Twitters have tweeted about the schools of fishes seen in the canals of Venice. Meanwhile, the air, as online articles showed, has been observed to be less polluted now since "less vaporetti and boat traffic" are seen compared to the typical traffic since residents' movements were restricted.

Satellite images (as seen on the video) show too, a considerable drop in the level of pollution in Italy during the COVID-19 lockdown or quarantine. In the information gotten from the European Space Agency (ESA), the emissions of nitrogen dioxide have considerably dropped over Italy after the lockdown due to the new coronavirus.

Even though the pandemic has led to such depressing news around the world, this piece of news is undeniably a relief. Nevertheless, it highlights, as well, how the humans' absence, a lot of city locals believe, makes the world beautiful.
