Natalie Green is the one-year-old daughter of mother Clara Green and has already been spending most of her life in and out of the hospital due to the already existing asthma and recurring flus. Clara Green's husband Beau Green has tested positive with the COVID-19 and although both parents were aware that their kid was a "sickly child," they did not expect that the coronavirus would hit their daughter.

The couple and their daughter

According to the couple, "We just told the doctors, 'Hey we have a one-year-old who just doesn't do well with viruses. Is (COVID-19) something we need to worry about?'" which was said by Green in an interview with TODAY. She then continued by saying that they were assured that their daughter would be find and that "Kids aren't affected that we know of."

When Natalie started to get a fever, the parents then just assumed that she was only teething. Green then treated Natalie's fever but the toddler started convulsing and even experienced a febrile seizure which was due to the sudden increase in body temperature. The Greens then called 911.

According to Green, her daughter had experienced about five or six seizures which has never happened before which after made her nonresponsive. The paramedics were then informed beforehand that the husband, Beau, was positive of the coronavirus and they were required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) even before entering the house.

The mother's sadness

Green expressed how bad she felt about the situation due to the fact that her daughter was in need of immediate attention and care and that "they couldn't even come into our house." Green said that the officials were really concerned and that scared her and her husband.

Upon arriving at the Colorado Children's Hospital, the doctors immediately began running tests on Natalie and even took the small toddler for a chest X-ray. Green said that the hospital did not have any COVID-19 tests but right when Natalie was diagnosed for other viruses, the tests came back negative.

The doctors then told the parents that Natalie was experiencing complications that were most likely related to the coronavirus. According to green, the doctors expressed how they have yet to see any reports of young children experiencing febrile seizures due to the virus.
