Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, has revealed a revised date for the Starship spacecraft's first orbital mission, together with its dedicated Super Heavy Booster rocket. But he still intends to carry through his multi-planetary plans to bring people to Mars despite the delay.

FAA Pushes Back SpaceX Starship First Orbital Flight To March

The SpaceX CEO affirms that Starship will make its maiden orbital journey this year. However, Space.com said there is a slight shift in the timeline. The FAA will issue a response later in February. The Starship will fly by late March if all goes well.

The FAA highlighted the large number of comments received on the draft programmatic environmental assessment (PEA) and discussions and consultations with consultative parties as reasons for the decision.

FAA officials said in an update that they received more than 18,000 public comments about the PEA, which was issued on Sept. 17. In answer to a question concerning the test flight's planned date, Elon Musk replied in a Tweet: "FAA approval is the schedule driver."

SpaceX's Multiplanetary Plans Is For The 'Love' for Humanity?

Meanwhile, an extract from Elon Musk's latest Lex Friedman interview covers a variety of topics related to the CEO's projects, but one item, in particular, stood out.

The discussion focuses on why Musk advocates for humanity to become multi-planetary. The CEO's response is inspired by his desire to make it feasible, which stems from his love for mankind and his desire to see it succeed.

Musk even verified this on Twitter, reacting to a post including a clip from the video interview. One of SpaceX's objectives isn't only about traveling to the other side of the world, thanks to the CEO's passion. But also for the sake of the people of the planet.

According to the famous CEO and millionaire, people are supposed to be multi-planetary creatures that may journey and flourish from one planet or space location to another. Musk is confident that SpaceX will develop one of the first spacecraft capable of securely transporting humans from Earth to destinations such as Mars and other nearby planets.

Musk asks for the public's cooperation in making mankind a multi-planetary species, with SpaceX as its primary sponsor or patron.

The public will have an opportunity to have a vessel for this desire through SpaceX, and individuals will need to demonstrate their commitment to the cause in order for it to push through various legislation or laws.

SpaceX and the people will work together to realize Elon Musk's aim of sending the first humans to another planet. The Mars expedition is not far off since the spacecraft has already been constructed. The stainless steel Starship is awaiting its signal for orbital flight testing.

Nonetheless, following a series of testing, the corporation plans to launch an unmanned mission to Mars.
