Dmitry Doev is one of the most sought-after senior executives. In September 2021, he became the head of a major infrastructure holding company operating in the public-private partnership market.

Childhood and youth

Dmitry Doev was born on July 12, 1966, in Leningrad. Until the age of three, he lived in the small town of Toropets, Tver Region, which is where his mother Vera Vladimirovna was born. Then the family returned to Leningrad.

Dmitry excelled in the exact sciences from an early age. He took intensive mathematics courses at a specialized school and also did well in physics. At the insistence of his father, Vitaly Semenovich, a doctor of technical sciences and a professor at the Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers (now the St. Petersburg State Transport University), he went to study engineering at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute (now the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University). He graduated in 1989 with a degree in dynamics and strength of machines.

Science

The future manager's professional biography began in 1989 at one of the country's most strategic enterprises - the Research Institute for Precision Instruments (currently part of the Space Systems holding), whose developments are among the most important elements of domestic space programs and projects. The Leningrad Polytechnic Institute graduate was accepted as an engineer in the combustion and explosion physics research laboratory.

Doev soon took a position as an assistant in the Department of Experimental Physics at the Leningrad State Technical University of the State Committee for Science and Higher Education. He held this position for about three years, giving lectures and seminars to students, as well as conducting laboratory work.

Management activities

Dmitry Vitalievich Doev decided to leave his teaching career and enter private business in 1993. He took a leadership position in a company with a wide range of activities that specialized, among other things, in supplying complex technological equipment to industrial enterprises.

In the early 2000s, the executive became the head of a manufacturing firm that carried out a full range of work - from design to operation of housing, road and transport infrastructure facilities, social institutions, as well as industrial enterprises in the oil and gas and energy sectors. Currently, it is the head company of the construction division of the VIS Group, acting as the general contractor for the holding's projects.

Dmitry Doev worked in senior management positions within Gazprom structures from 2004 to 2019. He managed the consolidation of the corporation's repair assets and created a specialized holding company for the repair and maintenance of gas infrastructure facilities. The top manager played a direct role in key processes such as:

• Creation of a unified gas supply system 

• Development of underground gas storage facilities

• Launch of the production of disposable and replaceable parts for the repair of gas turbine engines, which significantly reduce dependence on imported suppliers

• Formation of a unified base of normative and technical documentation

• Launch of new complex repair methods, such as underground and underwater repair

In 2019, the manager left the company, transitioning from the oil and gas industry to a new business direction.

Current professional activities

Dmitry Vitalievich Doev has been the head of the parent company of the diversified holding company VIS Group since September 10, 2021. Commenting on his appointment to this position, representatives of the Group's Board of Directors noted that negotiations for Doev to join the management team had been underway for some time. The executive is among the most sought-after and effective managers in the domestic business world (he was named as such in the General Director business magazine in 2021).

As the head of VIS Group, the top manager works to improve management quality, minimize construction and other production risks, and develop and implement new corporate standards for the vertically integrated holding's operational activities.

VIS Group specializes in infrastructure projects in various economic sectors, occupying leading positions in the public-private partnership market. The holding consists of seven divisions:

• International Cooperation

The group's companies act as private partners, organizing the financing, construction, and operation of the objects it builds. Currently, the holding is working on large-scale projects such as the construction of bridges over the Ob, Lena, and Kaliningrad Strait rivers, the construction of medical and cultural institutions in Yakutia, as well as a high-speed highway in the capital region that will redistribute traffic from four busy highways. The overall portfolio of contracts has already been formed for the period up to 2047.

Personal life
