World War 3 is happening, according to Amazon's AI assistant Alexa.

Is World War 3 Happening?

There has been a growing fear that an all-out war could break out amid the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. No one is certain, but Amazon's Alexa predicted that World War 3 would happen later this year. The AI assistant even provided an exact date and time when it would happen.

In the viral TikTok video uploaded by Jon Buckhouse, he asked Alexa, "What happens in 2023."

"On November 24, 2023, at 6:05 a.m., Russia launches an attack against Germany and France sparking the beginning of World War 3."

The video received mixed responses from the netizens. One commented that it was not real and was only done to scare the people. Another user claimed that "only Allah knows."

Several shared that their birthday is on Nov. 24. One said it's not a good present.

The chilling prediction could be correct or wrong. However, one should take it with a grain of salt. The original source clip suggested that it could be a work of a notorious TikTok trickster, Daily Star reported.

Several netizens also said Alexa provided another answer when they asked the same question. One user said Alexa responded, "sorry I can't predict the future." A different user echoed the same response, saying Alexa told her she couldn't tell the future.

How Did Alexa End Up With The World War 3 Prediction

While it's unclear how Jon persuaded Alexa to give such a dramatic response, research from online fact-checking service Snopes suggested that he probably used Alexa Blueprints.

Blueprints enable Alexa owners to customize the responses to specific questions. For instance, one can teach Alexa to remember the WIFI password.

When the tool was launched, Amazon suggested users provide custom information such as emergency contact details.

Steve Rabuchin, Vice President of Amazon Alexa, said Blueprints is a new way to teach Alexa personalized skills exclusive to the family. One doesn't need to learn new skills to get started. Rabuchin said they created their own jokes skills in a matter of minutes. He added that it was fun interacting with Alexa in a personal way.

What is Alexa?

Alexa is a voice-controlled assistant. She can play audio, control a smart home, answer questions, and even engage with the user to keep them organized, informed, safe, entertained, and connected, according to The Assistant.

Alexa can be accessed through a number of smart speakers and other Alexa-enabled devices.

David Limp, Amazon's senior vice president who oversaw the initiative, said Alexa was inspired by science fiction. They aimed to reinvent the conversational computer onboard Star Trek's Starship Enterprise.

Alexa made her debut in 2014 alongside Echo smart speaker. Alexa can do a host of activities, including playing music, playing audiobooks, calling phones and other Alexa-enabled devices, reporting news, checking the weather, controlling a smart home, finding local business information, answering questions, and even telling stories.
